As busy mums always on the look out for a work around or an innovation that makes our lives easier, we LOVE when we come across a mama-led brand that is creating a product that does just that.
The co-founders behind Gathre, Marilee and Jessica, spotted a gap in the market for a chic, sustainable range of play mats that could be wiped clean, carried anywhere, and would last through everything toddlers could throw at them.
A Kickstarter funding round - and a few late night garage sessions later - and Gathre Mats was born. Created from bonded leather, the range now includes changing mats, playmats, table cloths, yoga mats and picnic rugs. All in the most wonderfully tasteful range of colours and patterns.
I LOVE the world mat changing mat - always rolled up in my bag, just in case - and the midi mat makes the most perfect throw down square to soften a hard floor, or create a clean space for tots to roam when you are out and about.
We are on track to fill our homes with these squares of leather loveliness in 2019 (and we might even get back into yoga just to have a reason to add the yoga mat to our arsenal).
